Sutra Folding Fan

Heart Sutra - a Buddhist scripture written in gold on a dark blue / black background. In addition to the Japanese kanji characters, there is their reading in hiragana syllabary, which can be read even by beginner learners of Japanese. The earliest existing manuscripts of the Heart Sutra, written on palm leaves, are kept in the Horyuji Temple in Japan, dating from 609 AD. The length of the folding fan is 22cm.
